Templeton is a sleepy little town, best known by locals for the gentleman wineries and estates. It is home to agriculture consisting primarily of vineyards and wineries. If you are not working at one of the many Vineyards, local Hospital or other medical facilities within Templeton proper, then residents may work in nearby communities with a short easy commute. Templeton is emerging as a world class wine producer; with many of the wineries carrying the "Paso Robles" designation actually located in the unincorporated Templeton area. Just some of these wineries include Castoro Cellars, Peachy Canyon, York Mountain, and Wild Horse.
